I hope that all of you out there will visit The Drake’s Nest Studios and welcome guest artist Royce Vaughn. Royce graciously agreed to let me interview her and post some of her wonderful pictures of ATC’s and PCs (Post Cards). I have personally spoken with Royce on the telephone at her home in Nashville, Tennessee and she is a delightful woman. She has amazed me with her art in that she is self-taught as well as self-taught graphic designer! Back 20 or so years ago, you didn’t necessarily need a degree in art to be a graphics designer, writer or artist. As you will see, she is phenomenal! Glad to be able to call her friend and welcome her to the Drake’s Nest.
Here’s a little peek at just one of Royce’s wonderful pieces of art –
Isn’t that beautiful! Just thinking how nice that would look hanging in my new studio! ~2~ Thank you again Royce for the photo’s of your work and for taking the time from your busy schedule to be interviewed.
Now, the Drake’s Nest Studios is almost ready for a grand opening! I finished building the last of the 4 bookcases, have put 3 coats of policrylic on the work table and all that’s left to do there is bolt the pieces together and glue the top on the base units, same with the lazy Susan cabinet in the kitchen nook area. Still have to mount 2 wall cabinets and move the armoires down from the pole barn, organize books, patterns and fabrics into the places where they go and then I will have the grand opening pictures.
Can you believe this! It’s still summer and the studio is done well ahead of schedule!! Wheee!! Doing happy dance here at the Drake’s Nest. The only thing that won’t be done for a while is the 220 power being hooked into the studio until I can save the cash for a separate power box from the power company.
Have a great day everyone and know that you don’t sweat the small stuff, because it’s ALL small stuff!!
