Winter has arrived!

Here at the tip o’the mitt of Northern Michigan Winter has finally arrived and with a vengeance. We had winds that were equal to a class 3 hurricane the first part of November. Talk about the Gales of November coming early! WOW!

We lost a 12 foot spruce tree that was right next to the house. If not for our flagpole deflecting its path, we would have had tree in the upstairs loft, livingroom and dining area. Thankfully it fell just on the other side of the flagpole and into my flower box. Surprisingly, a very old willow, which had split in half with half of it falling in the pond, is still standing and has withstood the high winds. I keep expecting it to fall with each burst. We’re even having snow flurries so the big stuff can’t be far behind.

Hard to believe that I have almost finished my Junior year of college and that in the Spring I will be a senior and, if all goes well, will be graduating either next fall or early spring of 2012. We shall see. After school is completed, I will be concentrating full-time on the Studio and getting some work done in there.

Be sure to keep watch here as I will be posting a swap, of sorts. What I will be doing is listing books that I either have never used or that have been lovingly used and I no longer want and will swap them for fabric and I will pay for the shipping of the book(s). Let me know if you would be interested in a swap like this and I’ll start taking inventory and sorting things out.

Hope that all are getting things made for the upcoming holidays. Hard to believe that it’s almost that time of year again. Where does the time go.
